Decks and outdoor living
Decks, pergolas, louvre roofs and outdoor rooms, engineered where the height requires it.
What it involves
How a job like this runs.
A deck under a metre high and under a certain size does not need a consent. Above that it does, and it needs an engineer, and the difference is the single most common thing people get wrong before they ring us.
We will tell you which side of the line your deck falls on before you spend anything. If it needs a consent we lodge it; if it does not, we still build it to the same detail because the failures we get called out to are almost always the drainage and the fixings rather than the timber.
Most of what we build is kwila, garapa or thermally modified pine. We will talk you out of untreated pine for a ground-level deck.
